Activities of Veda Sastra Parishat: 2023
Veda Sastra Parishat started their preparations for examinations much earlier i.e from May 2023. This year the application forms for examination were designed in digital form. Application forms and Invitations were circulated to various Veda Pathasalas in different states in India through digital media well in advance. This initiative facilitated to reach out to Vidyarthis who wanted to appear for examinations from each nook and corner in India within a short time which eased the process of conducting the examinations effectively.
Due to this initiative, maximum no.of students (total 376) applied for exams. Examinations were conducted from 30th Aug2023 to 5th Sep 2023. The food and boarding facilities were arranged in a spacious Sri Dutta Peetham and in Sri Vyasa Peetham, Rajahmundry. Examinations were conducted simultaneously in 12 rooms. About 22 examiners from different Veda Pathasalas/ Institutions in India participated for conducting the examinations. In all the four Veda Sakhas, the examinations were conducted.
About 336 students appeared for examinations. 1 Lakshana Ghanapthi, 14 no.of Ghanapathis and 46 no. of Kramapathis passed out and Pattas were awarded. Gold Medals for two outstanding scholars and Silver Medals for eight scholars were presented during Vedasabha, held on 6th September. Total 118 no of students passed out in part-Vedas. The highlight of these activities is the presence of Padmashri recipient Sri Garikipati Narasimharao garu during examinations. He visited the examination centre while conducting examinations.
On 5th Sept 23, in Tyagaraja Hall, Sri Garikipati Narasimharao garu gave Pravachanam entitled “Veda Swaroopamu-Bhagavatamu”, which was well attended by citizens of Rajahmundry. He appreciated Veda Sastra Parishat for their efforts in protecting Vedic culture. During his Pravachan, he emphasized on the importance of Vedas in Hindu Society and the need to protect this culture.
Veda sabha was held on 6th Sept 2023 i.e on Janmastami day, where in Maha Mahopadhyaya Sri Visawanadha Goplakrishna garu and Sri Garikipati Narasimharao garu were Chief Guests along with Dr S.Lakshmi Narayana of Tapas Trust (Chennai).
